1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use DocChat. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provided is accurate.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at security@docchat.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content you don't have the right to use, including copyrighted material without permission
- Upload anything illegal, defamatory, or designed to harass another person
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the platform
- Resell DocChat or share an account with people outside your own organization
- Use DocChat to generate content that violates applicable law
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.
4. Your content
You retain full ownership of documents you upload and the chat conversations you generate. You grant DocChat a limited license to process those documents only for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models.
5. Subscriptions and billing
DocChat offers a Free plan and a paid Prime plan. Prime is billed monthly in advance via CCAvenue. Charges are non-refundable except as described in our Refund Policy. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
6. AI-generated answers
DocChat uses large language models to generate answers grounded in your documents. LLMs are statistical systems and can occasionally produce errors or fabricate facts. Treat the output as a research assistant, not a definitive source — especially for legal, medical, or financial decisions. Always verify against the cited passage before relying on an answer.
7. Intellectual property
The DocChat platform, branding, code, and documentation are owned by IFERP and protected by copyright and trademark law. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to our intellectual property beyond the right to use the service.
8. Service availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime but make no guarantees. We may take the service down for maintenance with reasonable notice. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime, but credits may be available for material outages — contact support.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, DocChat's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold DocChat harmless from any claim arising out of your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, except where local consumer law gives you a non-waivable right to a different forum.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a material change we'll email you and give at least 30 days' notice. Continuing to use DocChat after the effective date means you accept the changes.
